35TH END OF EUROPE RACE

JANUARY 25, 2026

REGULATIONS

PART I

ORGANIZATION

1. Organization

The sporting event "35th End of Europe Race" (hereinafter briefly referred to as the "Race") is organized by the following entities:

Sintra Municipal Council, legal entity no. 500051062, registered at the Lisbon Commercial Registry Office, headquartered at Largo Dr. Virgílio Horta, 2714-501 Sintra.

In collaboration with the following entity:

Podium Events, legal entity no. 504197088, registered at the Lisbon Commercial Registry Office, headquartered at Av. Eng.º Duarte Pacheco nº 19 – 6º Dto, Lisbon.

The aforementioned entities (hereinafter briefly referred to as the "Organizers") organize the Race, which is exclusively and mandatorily contested by participants duly registered and accepted under the terms set forth in these Regulations.

2. Date / Time / Location

The 35th End of Europe Race will take place on January 25, 2026.

Time:

1st Start – 10:00 AM

2nd Start – 10:15 AM

Start: Sintra – Volta do Duche near Fonte Mourisca.

Finish: Cabo da Roca.

Time limit: 2h30 to complete the race distance.

The two starting waves are necessary because the first 4 kilometers of the course are uphill and cannot accommodate more than 2,000 participants in a single start without forcing the last athletes to walk.

Any athlete starting at a time different from the one assigned during registration will be disqualified.

3. Participation

3.1 Participation Requirements

Participation is open to all interested individuals who have duly registered, regardless of nationality or gender, provided they are in good health and physically fit to undertake prolonged physical exertion.

The 35th End of Europe Race is a competitive road running event.

The course, linking the town of Sintra to Cabo da Roca, traverses the entire Sintra Mountains range; participants are therefore warned that the route is winding, demanding, and technically challenging.

Given that participants have 2h30 to cover approximately 17 km, they must complete the first 5 kilometers in under 55 minutes and the first 10 kilometers in under 1h50. Any athlete exceeding these times at these checkpoints will be considered out of the race.

The Organizers' insurance coverage ends when the official timing of the event is closed (see Section "5. Insurance" of these Regulations).

Participants are not allowed to use any auxiliary mobility aids, such as bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, scooters, or wheelchairs, nor may they be accompanied by animals or baby strollers.

It is also prohibited to accompany participants along the course with any type of vehicle, motorized or otherwise.

3.2 Registration

3.2.1 Registration Types and Fees

Registration is limited to 3,000 athletes and is exclusively conducted via the website http://www.fimdaeuropa.com/ and is non-refundable.

There will be two starting waves:

  • 10:00 AM
  • 10:15 AM

During registration, participants must choose one of the above start times.

Start time allocation will be based on the chronological order of registration date and confirmed payment. The Organizers will announce when registration for the 10:00 AM wave is no longer available.

ATTENTION:

  1. Changes to registration details are only permitted until Friday, January 9; after this date, no modifications will be allowed.
  2. Changing your assigned start time is not permitted.
  3. An additional fee of €5 applies for upgrading to the "registration with transport" option. This upgrade is only available until Monday, January 19, 2026, and subject to availability.

Registration fees vary according to registration phase and chosen transport option, as detailed in the table below:

Registrants / Phase Without Transport With Transport — BUS 1 (Azóia — Before the race) With Transport — BUS 2 (Cabo da Roca — After the race)
First phase (Registration opening) €19.00 €21.00 €23.00
Second phase (After Phase I closes) €23.00 €25.00 €27.00
Third phase (After Phase II closes) €27.00 €29.00 €31.00

Transport-inclusive registrations will only be accepted until Monday, January 19, 2026 (inclusive).

Online registration closes on January 19 at 8:00 PM, unless the 3,000-participant limit is reached earlier.

Please note that running without a bib number or using someone else's bib is strictly prohibited. Anyone doing so will not be covered by insurance and will not be permitted to use the transport services or refreshment stations provided by the Organizers.

3.2.2 Athlete Transportation

BUS 1 – Between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM, transport from Azóia to Paços do Concelho, near the CP train station. Athletes must leave their vehicles in Azóia, 2.5 km from the finish line (Cabo da Roca), before the race begins. After finishing, these athletes must walk back to their parked vehicles.

BUS 2 – Post-race transport from Cabo da Roca to the Portela de Sintra railway interchange, with no intermediate stops. This service is only available until 1:00 PM.

NOTE: Buses may only depart from Cabo da Roca toward Sintra after the official race time limit expires (2h30 after the second start) to ensure the SAFETY of all participants until the event concludes.

For any transportation provided by the Organizers, athletes must display their bib number when boarding. Due to the number of athletes requiring transport after the race, buses may need to make two trips between Cabo da Roca and Sintra, potentially causing delays for the last athletes returning.

Prizes will be awarded based on overall finish order—i.e., the sequence in which athletes cross the finish line—regardless of start time.
